The Economy

My wife saw this sign sitting outside a local beverage drive-thru in Cleves.  I have to say, this is one of the best signs I have ever seen to illustrate the state of our economic and spiritual lives.  After I got done laughing, I thought i would throw it out to all of you and get your thoughts.  So Here it is...What do ya think?

Gas is cheap, my job isn't paying me any less and my eBay business is going fine. Life is good.

Life doesn't get better with alcohol. Been there, done that. Life gets better when we chase after the One who loves us in ways way can't every fully grasp.

God has promised to take care of His children whether the economy is good or it is bad. :) The panic happening I believe is largely due to the fact that an idol has turned against us...

It's just money, right? And things could be much, much worse.

Finding yourself blessed and finding yourself cursed, ...both can be seen from the same vantage point.

The difference is the lenses we wear. The filters through which we make sense of the world.

Hmmm...I will come from a different angle on this (I know the point the sign is trying to make). But if we traveled less (running all over the city trying to stay busy), and spent more time laughing with family, friends, and strangers over a cold beer (or whatever), talking about the things that really matter, I wonder if life truly would get better. I suspect it would.

I guess we are supposed to lay around in sweatpants all day drink a 40oz of Cobra. Just kidding...Things will turn around. Whether its the economy or certain aspects of our lives, if we put our faith in God he will take care of us and provide us with the things we truly need.

How sad is that - there are a lot of people out there that really agree with it! My hope for 2009 is that we can get more people to drink in Christ, and learn that it's an awesome high!!! If I could be transformed, anyone can!!! Everything within moderation!
